Green building Council of South Africa Seeks a Chief Executive Officer
In accordance with an advertisement placed in Sunday Times of 15 May 2011, the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) is inviting applications from suitable qualified persons to be considered for appointment as Chief Executive Officer of the GBCSA.
The GBCSA is an independent, membership-based, non-profit organisation supported by some of the biggest players in the commercial property sector. A dynamic board and management team, as well as close ties with the World Green Building Council and the Green Building Council of Australia enables the GBCSA to fast track its development. The GBCSA enjoys strong support from the South African property and construction sectors and currently has about 800 corporate members. The envisioned candidate is required to be a dynamic communicator, enjoying presenting and speaking, is financially astute and has a flair for marketing.
The profiles of candidates must include a minimum of five years’ experience in a managerial position (preferably in the property sector or sustainable development), and experience in and knowledge of green building.
Appointment as CEO would require a tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or a Property- related field (e.g. Architecture, Engineering, etc.) combined with business management experience. The GBCSA offers an attractive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience.
GBCSA retained Messrs B Gough & Associates to handle the initial response. Interested persons are urged to contact bgough@telkomsa.net as a matter of urgency as the advertisement indicated that applications should be received by not later than 20 May 2011.
