Mozambique Business Partnership Meeting

Dear Sir

I hope this letter finds you well.

Hereby we humbly request three hours of your time to discuss your organisations possible participation in substantial developments and investment plans for Mozambique.

As you are aware Mozambique has bilateral agreements with South Africa and as a South African company MozFood & Energy Ltd has joined hands with the Mozambican Government to assist them with the implementation of their National Food Security Strategy.

INTRODUCTION

Mozfood & Energy Ltd, (hereafter referred to as "MozFood") is one of the major shareholders in the Mozambican Company, namely The National Food Security Company Limitada, of which the Government and Tribal Authorities are the other shareholders. Mozfood will utilize modern agro farming technology, systems and procedures to train and develop the citizens of Mozambique to produce food commercially on a sustainable basis.

The objectives of Mozfood are to:

  • Create employment, thereby alleviating poverty.
  • Provide food for Mozambique on a sustainable basis.
  • Establish Modern Infrastructure and Agro Processing facilities.
  • Train students interested in farming at MEUMET Universities of Technology campuses to become independent Commercial Farmers.
  • Establish credit facilities for qualified members

PRODUCT DESIGN

With sufficient irrigation water available from the rivers across the Country an estimated 38 million hectares could be irrigated throughout Mozambique. The essence of the project is to develop 4,750 by 8,000 ha Commercial Farms across all 10 Provinces of Mozambique.

Each of the 8,000 ha Commercial Farms were subdivided into 20 x 400 ha Production Units. Each 400 ha will be cultivated by trained Mozambican Commercial Farmers with the required academic qualifications. 20 x 8,000ha Farms will be grouped together to form a 160,000ha Production Region.

The towns will consist of a Super Market, Pharmacy, Medical Facilities, Agricultural requirements, Retail Store, Research Centre, Commercial Farmers Training Centre, schools and other facilities ensuring a first world town environment. The Agro-processing Industry, for all products produced in the Region, will be established in the Industrial Areas of all Towns.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR INVESTMENT

TREES - MORINGA OLIFEIRA - each farm to be subdivided in 20% for irrigated crops, 50% Moringa Olifeira and 30% to re-plant indigenous trees.

Total income generated by removing the existing trees, which average 233 trees per ha  will generate $ 42billion x 38 over the next 30 years. The indigenous trees will be re-planted at 2,500 trees per ha. 

8,000 ha as calculation norm, with 20 x 8,000 ha Farms per Production Region, and 4,750 of 8,000ha Farms.

4,750 x 20 x 1 of 7 ton trucks

TRACTORS; 4,750 x 1 x 20 of 52 Kw

4,750 x 1 x 20 of 80 Kw.

INSURANCE - REQUIRE FOR ALL PERSONNEL . Pension, medical, death and disabilities. 2,185,000 employees x 4 policies.

SHORT TERM INSURANCE - HOUSEHOLD GOODS - 4,750 x 20 Production Units x 23 Houses = 2,185,000 properties to cover

The following Industries are required to establish the infrastructure over a 30 year period in 80 of 100 km x 50 km  Mozambique Development Units

Each Development Unit will consist of;

A Consulting Engineering Firm that has to appoint 6 Contractors Groups;

Bulldozer

Joinery or Timber

Road Construction

House Construction

Dam building and pipe lying

Timber Marketing

The rate at which the 30 year contract must be completed is;

2 x 8,000 ha per annum, totaling 60 of 8,000 ha within 30 years when total project must be completed.

The MozFinance Group to be formed was selected from the following Industries;

Investment; Old Mutual

Financial Services; FNB    

Retailing; SPAR

Motor Vehicles; Volkswagen

Tractors; John Deere

Bio-diesel Motors; Deutz

Timber; Swartland

Earthmoving and Timber Equipment; Bell Equipment

 Saw Milling Equipment: Nucor  

Processing Equipment: Buhler

These Companies from the various Industries were the first choice of Management, but are very closely followed by the second and third choices.

Should the first choices not be taken up in MozFinance, the similar products or services could be obtained from other names on the final list of Companies.

You are a vital part of the cog that can make this machine work and without your co-operation it would be difficult.
