"Topanga", by RZT Zelpy 4369 T/a Double B Projects
Topanga is a residential complex consisting of 72 apartments, 54 of them are 2 bedroom units while remaining all have 3 bedrooms.
The programme start date was 1 May 2007 with the project being handed over in three phases of 24 units each; completion date was set at 1 March 2009. Much to the delight of clients and agents alike, without in anyway compromising on quality, all 3 handover dates were timeously met. Difficulties encountered with quality planning, subcontractors and management issues, were all overcome.
In collaboration with Project Manager Bert Deana and Realty 1 agent Kenny lee, the project plan was meticulously put together by Architect Lee Maree of Level 7, ensuring that all units at least have a partial sea view.
HIGHLY COMMENDED PROJECTS | ROB ROY LIFESTYLE VILLAGE, BY REED SIMPSON CONSTRUCTION CC The project brief entailed the complete conversion of the old Rob Roy Hotel, Botha’s Hill, into apartments; including additional units added in keeping with the overall design and aesthetics of the original building. The original hotel rooms were converted into 32 independent units and 13 frail care units situated on the ground floor.
The Rob Roy Hotel which dates back to 1930’s brought with it many challenges, primary of which was the lack of accurate as-built drawings. The elevation of the Rob Roy Hotel is iconic and was to be preserved at all costs, with this in mind all external works and additions had to be carried out with minimal impact of the overall elevation.
