"BMW Showroom - Ballito", by Rod's Construction

The stringent time frame in handing over this project demanded that a suitably sized and qualified team be allocated to this site.

The foundations comprised of reinforced strip footing and bases. The showrooms foundations were constructed of 300mm wide concrete core wall with 15mpa concrete infill. The workshop foundation was constructed of a 1 brick wall. 14mpa bricks were used in all foundations.

The building was constructed of a reinforced concrete and structural steel frame with brick infill, aluminum roof sheeting on a steel roof structure with aluminum and glass curtain walling and shop fronts.

The power floated concrete floor in the workshop was finished with a self leveling epoxy. The screed floors in the showroom and offices were either finished with a porcelain floor tile, laminated timber flooring or carpets.

The new home of Toyota Hillcrest is yet another prestigious showroom, completed within the portfolio of Grid construction. The building has been perfectly engineered to fit into a steep hill which valleys its way down to St Hilliers Dam, allowing for breath taking views. The building itself was constructed to the very latest Toyota-SA specifications which conform to the most cutting edge of international standards.
