Hans Stols - Regional Manager

Hans grew up in Klerksdorp before his family relocated to Harrismith when he was 13. After matriculating, he began his career in the nearby town of Bethlehem, where worked for the South African Railways. Hans displayed a natural enthusiasm for learning and completed several courses. He quickly rose through the ranks, resigning 13 years later as a district track manager.

Hans then took up employment as a production Manager with Protea Chemicals, where he was responsible for production and quality control of all products manufactured for the South African Market. During this period, he gained vast experience in human resources, marketing and labour practices. When Protea Chemicals decided to relocate their plant to Johannesburg, Hans took the decision to start his own business.

He and his wife Marietjie, bought two bottle stores and a sweet distribution business in Winburg. At the same time, Hans was also involved as an Intelligence officer with the Commandos and was offered a permanent position with the Directorate of Covert Collections. Hans completed several specialized courses and training, before deciding to fully concentrate his efforts on assisting Marietjie in expanding their business interests.

He and Marietjie later took the decision to sell their businesses and to purchase the development rights to a complex. Hans registered with the NHBRC and headed to KwaZulu-Natal to complete the construction himself. They then bought an Estate Agent Franchise in Shelly Beach, wrote their Board exams, and settled in Mtwalume.

Having particularly enjoyed his earlier involvement in construction, Hans came to the realization that running an estate agency was not what he wanted to be doing. With this in mind he joined the Master Builders Association in April 2008 and now draws tremendous pleasure from being involved in the industry he relates to best.
