Ben van Rensburg - Inspectorate

Ben grew up in Bloemfontein and after completing school, spent six years studying at the University of the Orange Free State, where he qualified as a quantity surveyor.  

After University, he spent the next 5 years working for a construction company called Martin Harris and Sons. He then joined Schoombie Hartmann and Partners as a fully fledged Partner and ran their Bethlehem office for them.

Four years later, while still in Bethlehem, he started his own Quantity Surveyor Practice, van Rensburg Schultz and Partners. Success was soon realized and branches were established in Kwa Kwa, Harrismith and Ballito.

Ben’s involvement with the National Home Building Registration Council (NHBRC) stems back to 1996, while working out of his Ballito office. In 2002 he sold his practice and began subcontracting for them on a full-time basis.

In 2007 Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal was awarded the tender for the NHBRC Outsourced Inspectorate and Ben was the natural choice to manage this division on behalf of the Association.
