Betts Construction (PTY) Ltd was founded in 2005 by George Betts. Since inception the company has grown into one of the leading companies in the building services field within the KwaZulu Natal and Eastern Cape areas and specializes in construction, refurbishment, alterations & additions.

Our upper level management have over 70 years of combined experience in the construction industry and have been involved in the following flagship projects: Paul & Verginie Hotel (Mauritius), Tadbir Shopping Centre (Mauritius), Alusaf Hillside Smelter, Mondi Kraft Extension, South Coast Mall, Sibaya Hotel & Casino, Suncoast Hotel & Towers, King Shaka International Airport, Sun International Wild Coast Casino & Resort and various up market houses, notably those in Seychelles and Zimbali.
 

Our work profile includes Conference Centres, Shopping Centres, Hotels and Holiday Apartments. We have completed projects or are currently working on projects for the following Blue Chip clients: Southern Sun, Little Swift Investments 129 (PTY) Ltd, APEX HI Properties Ltd, HYPROP Investments Ltd, GOLDDURB Investments (PTY) Ltd., Growth Point Properties Ltd.

MEET THE TEAM

George Betts (M.D)

Having completed his education in the U.K in 1977, George started work with Costains construction as a trainee land surveyor, three years later he was offered a job in South Africa for the then, LTA Conjig (specialising in low cost housing)where he gained invaluable experience in the fast track housing industry. During the next 10 years he worked for several large construction companies in South Africa, before being offered a position in Mauritius as a site agent for REHM Grinaker in 1993.

He completed several projects including a hotel, 700 low cost houses, a shopping centre, new offices and warehousing e.t.c, having spent 12 years working in between Mauritius and the Seychelles islands, George decided it was now time to move back to South Africa and settle down. Towards the end of 2005 George started Betts Construction (Pty) ltd.

Gavin Glasspool (Director)

Before joining forces with George Betts in 2006 Gavin had worked on numerous projects mainly in Northern Natal and Zululand and also owned his own successful construction company he has over 30 Years of experience in the industry, Gavin is a Director in Betts Construction.

Tracey Lawson (Financial Director)

Tracey joined Betts Construction in March 2007 as Financial Manager and was promoted to Financial Director in August 2007. Tracey has over 20 years experience in the accounting field, with 15 of those years being worked in the construction industry.

Rowan Morgan (Contracts Director)

Rowan has 12 Years of experience in the construction industry including a number of years in the UK since graduating with a NDip Building in 1999. Rowan joined Betts Construction in 2008 after working for a Multi National Construction Company around South Africa for 6 years and was involved in numerous large scale projects including Sibaya Hotel & Casino, SASOL Secunda (Project Turbo), Suncoast Hotel and King Shaka International Airport amongst others . Rowan was recently made a Contracts Director in Betts Construction.
