Dicks Construction has been operational since 1968. It was a (Pty) Limited Company and changed to Dicks Construction CC in 1988.
The Company was under the directorship of the late Mr J F Dicks from inception until 1992. Mr K A Dicks (B.com, Pr.CM.), with a Gradum Commercii Baccalaurei degree from Durban University and a registered SACPCMP member, took over the reins in 1992.
Dicks Construction CC is a member of Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal, where the late Mr J F Dicks acted as Zululand President for a number of years. Mr K A Dicks a previous committee member for two years was appointed Zululand President in June 1996 to June 2003. In June 2003 he was elected as president of the KZNMBA and served three years. Mr K A Dicks also represented KZNMBA on the national executive for 3 years. Dicks Construction CC is registered with the, Skills Development levy, Workmen’s Compensation (FEM Policy No. 10308), Unemployment Insurance Fund, VAT, Receiver of Revenue, CIDB (GB7), NHBRC, Chamber of Business and SACPMP.
Dicks Construction CC has excelled in Safety and has achieved a 5 Star safety grading for over 10 years. FEM has recognised Dicks Construction CC on three occasions for exemplary safety and awarded Dicks Construction CC with Awards of Excellence in Safety.
Dicks Construction CC has submitted entries to the Kwazulu Natal Master Builders Awards of Excellence competition since its inception in 2004. In 2004 Dicks Construction CC was awarded the 1st prize for Excellence for a residential building as well as the Supreme Excellence in Building Award for the evening. In 2009 Dicks Construction CC was awarded the 1st prize for Excellence in a Single Residential Building above R2M. In 2010 Dicks Construction CC was awarded the 1st prize again for Excellence in a Single Residential Building as well as the Supreme Excellence prize for the best building overall.
Dicks Construction CC offers experience and long term stability as well as quality of work in the building and small civils work as a whole. Mr K A Dicks has over 22 years experience in Project Management. Dicks Construction CC also has a hire division that concentrates on the individual client. Dicks Construction is an affirmative action company that is continually training staff internally as well as incorporating a profit sharing policy. At present Dicks Construction CC is a level 2 BEE registered company.

As contract commitments vary so does manpower resources, but Dicks Construction tries to maintain a core staff with experience and company loyalty. Most of the core staff have been with the company for well over 10 years service.
