Company Profile

Progress of Empangeni was established in 1983 as a sheet metal and radiator repair company. With expansion and changes in the market place Progress now specializes in the fabrication and repair of Heat Exchangers as well as a complete division that performs general engineering duties in carbon steel. Our workshops are capable of a combined fabrication in special steels such as aluminium, stainless steels and other alloys; incalloys and hastalloys. Progress has a capacity of 400 tons per month, this includes repetitive contractual maintenance type work.

The Managing Director & the Business Manager control the daily running of the company. Progress of Empangeni's commitment to quality is undoubtedly a principal factor of maintaining its status in industry.

Progress of Empangeni can also arrange for:

1) On-site removal and replacement of parts and machinery.
2) 3rd Party inspections.
3) NDT to all specifications as required by clients under 3
4) Full metallurgical reports and analysis of material applications and breakdowns.

At present our product range includes:
Heat exchangers / Roasters / Structural steel such as conveyers and conveyor roller repairs; Custom stainless steel and Aluminium:

1) For medical and laboratory purposes.
2) The paper industry.
3) Food industry.
4) Aluminium manufacturing
5) General industrial and foundry applications to customer specifications.

7) Repairs to the above

Our expertise is divided into three distinctive departments

1) Heat exchanger division, this includes the Design, Fabrication, Certification, Maintenance and Installation of heaters, coolers, evaporators, condensers, heat recovery units as well as all pipe work and structural steel required for the installation and commissioning thereof.

2) Fabrication Division, this includes all steel fabrication to drawing or supplied specifications in structural steel, sheet metal, special steels and alloys, as well as pipe work, pipe manipulation, developments, machining and coded welding.

3) Contracts Division, this is where we have dedicated crew and equipment specifically for one client/contract to perform a specific task or number of tasks in order to achieve an optimum level of service, safety and quality for the duration of the contract.
