Owner Operator Sarah Unsworth has been involved in the construction business since 1995 when she was employed by Spencer-Gore Construction in Durban. Her job as project manager was to open the companys's Margate branch and oversee all its building projects in the area. In 2002 she left Spencer-Gore Construction and ventured out on her own, starting Southern Natal Construction.
Sarah's own background in administration allows her run her projects smoothly and she ensures that the liaison between all the different consultants and clients is done in a competent and professional manner. She has acquired her knowledge through hands-on experience and as she says "I also employ trained and skilled sub-contractors and have put together a dependable team that strives to offer high-quality workmanship."
Completing her first renovation on time and within budget is remembered by Sarah with a great sense of satisfaction at the time. " I also believe it has been an achievement to build up a competitive and successful building business in a mostly male-oriented environment".
Sarah attributes her success to valuing good relationships with all her clients, as well as the professional consultants with whom she deals, and also with her own working team.

Toi Skellern Architects: - 07 May 2010 I am resident in the UK and owner of a home in Southbroom where I recently carried out a R2,900,000 remodeling. I was extremely nervous about taking on this project 5000 miles away. My first piece of luck was Southern Natal Construction offering to tender, my second piece of luck was picking Sarah and her team from the tender list. Communication was if they were next door, they finished the project ahead of time, variations were taken without fuss or complaint, the build quality was higher than expectation, and the pricing was competative. After completion snagging has been carried out promptly and without inconveinience. For me the total package and exactly what was required. I can only give the highest praise to Sarah and her Southern Natal Construction team.
