New home for Zululand Master Builders Centre
The new home for the Zululand Master Builders Centre was officially opened by the president of Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal, Gavin Strydom, on 6 August 2009.
Almost 150 members of the Association, industry stakeholders and the press attended the event. A special marquee was erected in the parking lot behind the building to accommodate all the guests, who were treated to drinks and tasty snacks after a short presentation and speech.
The DVD presentation gave a comprehensive overview of the rollout of the new Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal corporate identity and expanded member services offering. Ryan Benians (Zululand Committee Chairman), Brandon Abdinor (Executive Director) and Gavin Strydom (President) then gave short speeches to the guests on some of the Association's current initiatives and milestones.
One of the primary reasons for purchasing the new premises in Empangeni, was to provide members and the public with a proffessional, and easily-accessible service centre. The specific building chosen has a rich history and although the refurbishment took slightly longer than expected, the transformation has been remarkable. Our hope is that the building will in time become a local landmark and will provide a much needed service to the community.
A big thank you needs to be extended to all those involved in the transformation of this building. The Association would like to make special mention of Francois Louw (Member and Exco Member), who volunteered his time to manage the project.
The event was successfully arranged by Paula Ferraris, who is the Zululand Regional Manager. Paula has recently joined the Association and is by all accounts, already having a positive influence on the local building and construction industry. She is available to assist and support you at any time.
Look out for more pictures of the event in a Blog post later this week.
