Health & Safety - Department of Labour Blitz Inspections

The Construction Industry is the current focus of the Department of Labour's "blitz" inspection program. The nationwide drive is aimed at ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety laws and kicked off on Monday the 13th of July 2009.

The Department has promised to clamp down hard on offenders and serious transgressions will result in criminal prosecutions as well as an effective blacklisting through a database of repeat offenders.

Over and above the severe threats of getting into trouble, observing health and safety is simply the right thing to do. Your employees help you make money and stay in business. They shouldn't have to fear for their safety while earning a living.
