CETA Strategy Planning Workshop
On Wednesday, the president of Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal (Gavin Strydom) and I attended a CETA Exco Meeting at the CETA offices in Midrand. At the conclusion of this meeting, we travelled to Amanzingwe Conference Centre in Broederstroom, North West Province were we met the rest of the CETA Council for a Strategic Planning Workshop.
Much energy and effort was ploughed into a SWOT analysis of the CETA on Thursday.
That evening, Mr. Silumko Nondwangu, the NSA Chairperson addressed delegates on the future of the SETAs. His speech was a comfort to all present, who heard that the move of the SETAs from the Ministry of Labour to the Ministry of Higher Education was planned to be done with the minimum disruption.
On Friday three commissions were tasked to interrogate the SWOT analysis, Core Areas and Governance Strategic Plan. The commissions were also tasked with conducting a stakeholder, performance and resource analysis. The results and recommendations of this process were presented to the council.
Lakeside Consulting, the appointed facilitators, will now:
- review the current Strategic Plan
- evaluate the CETA's effectiveness and progress in the execution of its mandate
- produce a revised Strategic Plan, a revised Organisational Structure and develop an Implementation Plan for the revised Strategic Plan.
