Promoting Members

FlagIf you are a Member of Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal, there are several ways in which you can use your Association to help promote your business.

The first port of call is perhaps the most well know - using the designated Master Builder logo to demonstrate to your clients that you are a member of Master Builders.  The Association has allocated a significant amount of its budget towards promoting both the Master Builders brand and it's members.  By using the vehicle decals and logo on your business stationery, promotional material, adverts and website you are able to achieve two things.  Firstly you differentiate yourself from non-members and secondly, you are able to align yourself to a strong, well established and trusted brand.

Please note that whilst we encourage you to use the designated logo whenever possible, we do need to ensure that the brand is used correctly and consistently.  To this end we have established a logo usage policy (see attachment) and are at hand to assist you in its implementation.

Perhaps one of the most exciting and effective new ways of promoting your business is through the Find-a-Builder and Find-a-Supplier (launching end April) modules on our website.  As a member, you are entitled to a directory listing and a dedicated page on our website listing company/contact information, a company profile, pictures of projects completed, testimonials from satisfied clients and lots more.  The directory quickly allows a prospective client to find a contractor/supplier in a given area that specialises in a particular field/product/service.  The Association is actively promoting these modules to the public, using the print media, yellow pages directories (400,000+ front covers in three regions), online marketing and a radio campaign later this year.  This service is offered at no cost.

The next way in which we can help you promote your company is by submitting an article for publication on the News and Information section of our website.  The article needs to focus on a special achievement or an innovation of some kind and is subject to an editorial review (purely promotional material will not be published).  You will however be acknowledged for the content and this is a great way of building your own brand.  This service is offered at no cost.

Another great way of building your brand is by participating in one of our online forums.  This support and networking environment is accessible 24 hours a day and by actively participating in discussions, you are able to build up both trust and a reputation.   This service is offered at no cost.

Perhaps one of the best ways in which you can promote your business and build a solid reputation, is by entering our Excellence in Construction competition.  This showcases your business and your project to other members, clients and the public.  The competition culminates in a gala function attended by over 400 people and receives significant coverage in the local and national press.  Entry into this competition is free.

Similarly, you can enter the annual Health & Safety competition.  Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal has a proud history in this competition and picked up 9 of the 10 awards at the National Awards ceremony.  The event was attended by people from across the country and received great national press coverage.  Entry into this competition is free.

Finally, you can attend one of the many meetings, events and functions that the Association arranges.  All of these are structured to allow for networking amongst members and many business relationships have been fostered in this manner.  Attendance at all meetings is free.

The list above is by no means exhaustive, but is meant to give you an overview on how to get the best from your Association in this regard.  As you can see from the above, the Association can provide many tools for you to promote your business at no additional cost.  All that is required from your side is a commitment and willingness to participate in our community.
