Regional Roundup: South Coast

The first South Coast Regional Roadshow of 2010 took place at the Port Shepstone Country Club on the 17th of March and was superbly well attended. A turnout of 140 people is remarkable for such an event and is a true indication that our South Coast members are committed to the principles for which the Association stands. WELL DONE!! And thank you to everybody who attended.

The presentations once again centered on what’s happening within the building industry today, and how to stay ahead in a very competitive market. Albeit that we have thus far only received positive feedback, we do however acknowledge that these meetings are for the benefit of our members and request that you please notify me of any topics, you would like to see covered at the next Roadshow scheduled for 18 August 2010.

On Friday 25 March 2010 an introduction lunch for Emerging Contractors, was held at the Margate Country Club hosted by NPC Margate. The purpose of the lunch was to notify emerging contractors of the benefits of being a member of the Association and to encourage them to join. More such events are planned for the future.

South Coast Region is thrilled to announce that our Executive Committee has approved the purchasing of new premises. We will be moving to the in The Sentinel business complex in Shelly Beach where we will be much more central and better equipped with office space, training facilities and a board room. Instructions have been given to the transfer attorneys to proceed with the legal formalities. Alterations need to be carried out and the estimation is that we should take occupancy at the end of June 2010; members will be kept informed.

Our Golf day which has become very popular among our members will be held on 14 May 2010 at the Margate Country club, to ensure the success of the day, we need maximum participation from players and sponsors alike.
