Submission of Annual Training Report and Workplace Skills Plan

WeldingThe period for submission of Annual Training Reports for 2009/2010 and Workplace Skills Plans for 2010/2011 opens today, 1 April 2010 as per the Skills Development Act. We therefore encourage all employers to urgently contact Victor Smith on 031 266 7070 or Tracy-Ann Thomas on 031 763 2633 to assist in the submission of these documents.

Compliance will give skills development levy payers access to a mandatory grant which will be paid directly into your bank account in four tranches.

There will also be access to discretionary grants for the role out of training in your enterprise. This will result in a more skilled and productive workforce.

This in turn increases the quality of work done.  Employees work safely and effectively, thus reducing accidents and delays. The end result is greater profitability for the employer.

The role out of learnerships and apprenticeships also gives one access to tax breaks and points on ones score card. (See our article on tax breaks dated 17 February 2010)
