Regional Round-Up: Zululand

With January having come and gone, 2010 is in full swing with lots of talking points pertaining to our industry.

A big bone of contention among local Zululand contractors was the sudden withdrawal of several multimillion Rand contracts to build schools. The 29 January 2010 edition of the Zululand Observer reports that the North Coast Region Department of public works suddenly and without explanation reneged on contracts issued to local developers in favor of Durban based companies. Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal is looking into the matter to determine whether or not there are improprieties that warrant in-depth investigation.

Congratulations to Gary, Ryan and the rest of the team at Quick Fix for being recipients of the Zululand Observer Readers Choice service and delivery excellence award, as voted by their readers. The paper refers to the recipients of the various categories as the best of 2009.  Well done Quick fix!
