South Coast Regional RoundUp - June 2010

Other than team Algeria staying at the Sanlameer Hotel and using the new Ugu stadium near to Shelly Beach as their home base, there have been no notable changes to the normal South Coast routine.

Although the KwaZulu-Natal lower South Coast Region did not enjoy the huge influx of tourism that many hoped the World Cup would bring, most locals got caught up in the spirit of the occasion and came out in support of Bafana Bafana displaying flags ubiquitously. Most cars were kitted out with mirror socks and window clip on flags flew proudly, creating an atmosphere in which everybody celebrated the possibility of our national team giving world cup competitors a run for their money.

Sadly two negatives came from the above, Bafana did not make it past the first round, and it brought about a significant drop in building activities which will hopefully return to normal once the final whistle has been blown. Nonetheless, I am sure those fortunate enough to have had a ticket or two to matches at the spectacular Moses Mabhida Stadium must have had an unforgettable experience. 

During June month, not much happened at the South Coast Regional Office which will be of interest to members other than making headway with regard to our new premises. The alterations are now all but complete and articles covering our relocation and promoting our new and improved facilities will soon feature in local newspapers and on masterbuilders.co.za.

Also worth noting is that our Community Project in Nandezule has progressed tremendously and is now also near completion. As always a handover ceremony will take place involving everybody who participated.

Our next Roadshow is scheduled to take place in August and exact dates will be circulated shortly. If any member wishes to take the opportunity to present at this very popular gathering, please contact me and we will arrange it through our Commercial Division in Westville.
