Dear Industry Colleague,

It gives me great pleasure to introduce Builders Trade Depot Ballito to you in what I hope will be the first of many such updates.

In the future I intend to bring you up to speed on developments within our business, BTD Ballito and the industry at large.

After what sometimes feels like an eternity of planning and waiting the pressure to have everything in place for our rapidly approaching opening date has begun.

Despite an almost 40 day extension to the contract programme as a result of inclement weather at the end of 2009 our contractor, Armstrong Construction, has managed to claw back almost all of the time lost.

As we speak, our staff appointments have been all but finalized and our Durban branches are abuzz with our recruits receiving hands-on training from experienced mentors.

Our teams of sales reps is almost ready to “hit the road” and begin to write sales and offer their services to you

Until such time as we are open deliveries will be made from other branches and we expect perfect continuity once we have opened.

Our national merchandising and marketing team are well down the road with their planning and stock should begin to roll in very shortly.

They have arranged massive promotions, specials and prizes to celebrate our opening; but more of this in time to come.

Our store development arm is finalizing their work with vehicles, equipment, fixtures, machinery, security and too many etc.’s to list being schedules for delivery and installation.

Introducing The “A” Team…….

We are overwhelmed and excited at the caliber of people that have joined our team. I have every confidence in their ability to exceed your service expectations.

My name is Andrew Savides and I have been appointed as Branch Manager.  I have a tertiary qualification in construction and have worked for both M & R and Group Five Building

I have also spent a few years in civil engineering project management and a decade in the building materials industry.

It is my pleasure to be of service to you. Previously employed at Game, Builders Express and Builders Trade Depot our Sales Manager, Gavin Naidoo, has the right credentials for the job. He has assembled a team of experienced sales reps who are currently in training.  Gavin will soon be making appointments to introduce himself to you.

Ugen Govindasami is our store Buyer.  He has an enviable pedigree which includes buyer at Builders Warehouse. Ugen is currently based in our head office where he is selecting and ordering the products that we will be offering to you.

Our Operations Manager is Selven Govender. Selven is a qualified structural timer grader and treatment plant manager.

He has solid experience in truss fabrication, timber machining and operations management. Our yard, truss fabrication and dispatch fall under his control.

Our Admin Controller is Roger Singh.  Roger has several financial tertiary qualifications and comes to us from Masscash.

Roger is responsible for debtors and creditors and will be overseeing your account.
