Regional Round Up: Midlands

Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Midlands Region has undergone some exciting changes over the last 6 months, not least of which is the completion our Pietermaritzburg based conference facility.

Importantly, this has enabled us to focus our attention on promoting training in this region. We have throughout February month encouraged members who pay a skills development levy to look at using us to submit their Work place skills plan (WSP). This will in the long term allow them access to funds for training of staff, and will lighten the load of responsibility that rests on the employer.

We have also progressed with our first training course of the year, “Scaffolding Inspection”, and hope to provide loads more training at subsidised rates before June is upon us. We encourage members to keep in touch and notify us of training requirements, this will help identify what training is needed and we could then look at dates and times.

In March and April we shift our focus to the recruitment of new members and the prospect of changes to Health and Safety Legislation. We will certainly keep you updated as to what is happening on these all important fronts, So Watch This Space!!!

To create awareness surrounding the Association’s service bouquet and to ensure that members aren’t missing out, we will soon be visiting. It is likely that we are offering a lot more services than the average member is aware of, keeping in mind that new services are being introduced virtually on a monthly bases.
