Amendments: Basic Conditions Of Employment Act Of 1997

After consultation with the Employment Conditions Commission, the Minister of Labour amended the Regulations issued in accordance with Section 86(1) of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act.

The amendments concern the Regulations previously published in the Government Gazette on 13 November 1998 and 26 July 2002 respectively which dealt with BCEA 1A (summary of the Act), and form BCEA 6 (application for Ministerial Determination).
 
BCEA 1A is issued in accordance with Regulation 2 in the form of a summary of the provisions of the most important Sections of the Act to be kept by an Employer in terms of Section 30 of the Act.
 
Form BCEA 6 is prescribed in all instances where an Employer applies for a Ministerial Determination to replace or exclude certain provisions of the Act or a Sectoral Determination.
