Construction Industry News and Views Edition 27 - May 2010
|
|
Dear Readers,
With just over a month to go until we host the 2010 Soccer World Cup, we are starting to feel a buzz of excitement in the air. The new King Shaka International Airport was opened on 1 May 2010 and by all accounts the overnight move to the new airport went off very well. On the same day the Moses Mabhida stadium was officially handed over to FIFA and work on the new promenade linking Ushaka Marine World with the stadium is progressing well. We look forward to welcoming the many overseas visitors who will be making the trip and can't wait for the start of the tournament on 11 June 2010.
A reminder to members that entries to both of our annual competitions are open at the moment. If you would like more information on the Excellence Awards, please contact Shelly. Neels and his team are available to answer any questions you may have on the Health & Safety awards.
As usual, the latest edition of our newsletter is packed with up-to-date news and information. We are continually tweaking the content and layout in order to deliver the content that you want in an easily digestible format. Please feel free to let us know if you have any suggestions on how we can improve your newsletter.

Mistake and Rectification of Contracts
For a binding agreement to be formed, there must be a meeting of the minds of all parties regarding the essentials of the contract.
Where, however, only one party is under a mistaken belief, this is called a unilateral mistake, which if material and reasonable, may render the contract void.
