Guideline: Construction Management Professions Act of 2000
The South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions has, in accordance with the Act, determined the guideline scope of services and tariff of fees from 1 January 2010.
Two Board Notices were published in this regard. Board Notice No 19 of 2010 was published on 19 February 2010. This Notice, however, was incomplete as an important section was omitted. It was again published as Board Notice 52 0f 2010 on 16 April 2010.
The contents of the notice is of interest to members for two reasons:
Firstly, there are members and/or their employees who offer registered professional project and construction management services in the open market. Secondly, there are members who may to procure these services from registered professional project and construction managers.
Notice 52 of 2010 is applicable from 1 January 2010 and is detailed in a Schedule under the following headings;
General Provisions
1 Definitions 2 Short title
Guidelines Scope Of Services
3 Standard services 4 Additional/supplementary services 5 Commission termination
Recommended Guidelines Tariff Of Fees
6 Application of tariff of fees 7 Fees for standard services 8 Services provided partially or in stages 9 Fees for additional services 10 Time based fees 11 Expenses and costs.
