Regional Roundup: South Coast

Purchase of Premises for The Lower South Coast Region

In last months Regional Roundup, I announced that the Association had purchased new office premises for the Lower South Coast Region.

This is the culmination of a long term objective of the Association to own premises in all of its operational regions. The Association already owned properties in Westville (Head Office), Pietermaritzburg, Empangeni and now in The Sentinal Complex in Shelly Beach, a site which is centrally located and far better suited to the needs of the region. 
 
A common feature of all these properties is that that they are situated in good localities where they are highly visible to passing traffic. Not only do our new premises meet this requirement, it is also highly suitable in a number of other respects.

The Sentinal Business Park is situated on the busy Marine Drive. The Association purchased the two adjacent sectional title units, which will be converted to a single fully integrated unit, with minimum alterations required.

The offices will boast state of the art meeting venues and training facilities. Several building Industry professionals are also situated in the same complex with adequate parking available.

It is expected that the transfer of the units to the Association will take place by end of May, after which the alterations will be effected.

It is anticipated that the Association will move to the new premises by 30 June 2010.

Its launch is most likely to take place on 12 October with the first order of business being to host a meeting of our Executive Committee. The president of the Association and all Exco Members are to be present for an occasion that will mark a new chapter in our history.
