South Coast Regional Round Up - August 2010

With the grand opening of the new South Coast premises long since done and dusted, members are still coming in to have a look and to congratulate us, on our new and improved facilities. We feel privileged to be operating out of our new South Coast offices with its truly wonderful furnishings, user friendly layout and easy accessibility. With the launch having received significant press coverage, along with our brand visibility from Marine Drive, the Association’s profile in the region has been raised considerably. Our new location is fast proving a tremendous asset.   

A factor we gave serous consideration to upon deciding which property to purchase is that Marine Drive, the main road linking Shelly Beach to Port Shepstone, it is the busiest road in the region. We have already had several people coming in off the street to make enquiries with some actually looking for the NHBRC, who are a bit further down from us. If they are not already members of the Association, this presents an excellent opportunity for us to promote ourselves; having the most prominent spot in the building does have its benefits.

Although I have taken leave from the 27th of August through to 14 September 2010, business at the office will continue as per normal with Regional Chairman Ray Basson, organizing a workshop with specific stakeholders in mind who are to be individually contacted. The only service we provide that may be effected is safety consulting.  Nonetheless, any member needing urgent assistance, the safety team at our Westville premises will happily lend a hand.

A lady named Dedrei has for the duration of my absence, been appointed to oversee the office from 08:00 to 16:30, however in emergency circumstances members are welcome to either contact me on my cell or Ray Basson, who has indicated that under such circumstances he will gladly make himself available.
