Neil Enslin - SAIOSH Person of the Year

On the 10th of December 2010 The South African Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (SAIOSH) held its inaugural year end function in Durban where the first SAIOSH Person of the Year Award was presented. 

SAIOSH is a professional non-profit organization founded by a group of enthusiastic Health and Safety Professionals who are committed to the prevention and reduction of work place injury throughout South Africa. This is achieved by promoting Professional Occupational Health and Safety Management and Practices to members as well as industry in general.

SAIOSH branches throughout the country follow a strict process whereby each province elects its own regional candid who is then submitted as a nominee for the national award. There are certain non-negotiable criteria for nomination, not least of which is having made a tangible difference in the lives of others.

The 2010 recipient of this prestigious award went to the Association’s very own Neil Enslin.

Neil was among the first to join SAIOSH, holds a National Diploma in Safety Management from UNISA, and is a registered Occupational Health and Safety Professional with OHSAP. He is employed by Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal as a Senior Occupational Health and Safety Consultant, advising and assisting members on how best to conform to Construction Health and Safety standards.

Upon receiving the award Neil conveyed his gratitude to SAIOSH and made it known what an honor it is, to receive such high recognition from esteemed colleagues in his chosen field of Occupational Health and Safety.
