Dear Members & Readers
In this edition of Building Industry News and Views, we address some industry related hot topics, and it doesn't get much hotter than the Consumer Protection Act, a broadly formulated piece of legislation with far reaching implications. Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Executive Director Brandon Abdinor has given the act a tremendous amount of thought, and warns of potentially problematic clauses. Other articles to look out for include "Tough measures implemented to root out irregularities in public sector procurement" as well as "JT Ross Project Scoops Prestigious Fulton Award". You may also find the "The Debit Order Conundrum" interesting as it also touches on the Consumer Protection Act, explaining why it is now mandatory, that Debit Order forms be re-submitted annually. Featured on our forum this week, there are a number of very interesting tender related articles hot off the press. You will find the links down the right hand column and members are encouraged to have a read, and to please post comments. If you are looking to gain exposure for your business be sure to read "Association Annual Directory 2011" as it represents an excellent marketing opportunity and with regard to future editions of this newsletter, we ask that you keep in mind that we value your opinion, and welcome your recommendations.
....... Enjoy

Benefit Cheats - Excuses When Caught
In the UK, those who receive state unemployment benefits are commonly referred to as "being on the dole". While today's post could be mistaken as lines delivered by legendary dole cheats Rodney and Del in Only Fools and Horses, they are in fact real excuses used by real benefit cheats, when caught in the act.
