Dear Members & Readers
For many whom operate within our industry the spate of holiday's that occurs over the Easter period is a hindrance, rather than a blessing. It is understandable that when deadlines are to be met, losing days to public holidays can be disconcerting. Nonetheless, it is our sincerest wish that everybody has returned to work safe and sound, re-energised, and ready to face whatever challenges await.
Our lead article this week is a plea to the industry to join in the fight against HIV and Cancer. The good people of McCord Hospital have been servicing the Durban community for 102 years and remain committed to making a significant contribution towards combating South Africa's two most pressing health burdens. We urge you to please give some thought to this article and to contribute in whatever way possible.
As always, we present a cross section of industry pertinent subject matter ranging from occupational health and safety to Project Management Training on Saturdays. We also warn of a newly imposed 3pm deadline for SARS payments via the Drop-box and provide a follow up article, on the looming reinforcing steel shortage.
I would also like to mention, if you have ever wondered why this newsletter arrives displaying a whole lot of blank squares, it is because you are given the option of downloading the images. While not downloading images will save you a bit of bandwidth, it is best viewed with them displayed. The most effective way of obtaining them, is to click on the click here link provided at the top (where it says "Having trouble viewing this email? Click here"). That way you are connecting to the newsletter online, which is much less bandwidth intensive.
Enjoy.....
