Dear Members & Readers
In this edition, along with several Health & Safety related articles, we feature some high profile politicians whose policies have bearing on our industry.
Minister of Correctional Services the honourable Ms N. N. Mapisa-Nqakula, recently addressed our members with regard to concerns relating to Government's cancellation of Public Private Sector Partnerships (PPPs) for the design, construction and management of four new prisons. The message she put across strongly implied that the move will in fact bode well for the industry, to find out more, be sure to read our headline article.
Is "Oih, somebody, give this man a Bells!", a deserved reaction to the excellent work National Minister of Public Works Thembelani Thulas Nxesi has thus far achieved in his tenure. Pieter Rautenbach poses the question.
Then lastly .....
Minister of Human Settlements Tokyo Sexwale is calling for the implementation of a state run construction company. We have placed several articles relating to this topic on our forum which can also be found down the right hand column.
Enjoy your newsletter and please don't be shy to provide us with feedback.
