CIDB Regulations

CIDB - LogoThe CIDB regulations, incorporating all amendments are available on this website on the Stakeholder Relations page (under Member services).

Recent amendments to the CIDB regulations have made significant improvements towards streamlining registration criteria.  These improvements:

  • Enable contractors to calculate the grades that they qualify for by removing the subjective bank rating factor.  The bank rating factor of "employable capital" has been replaced with "available capital".
  • Replace the average turnover for the past 2 years with the best annual turnover for the previous 2 years.
  • Comprehensively define financial sponsorships - see new regulation 7 (10) on page 10
  • Strengthen the requirement for financial statements to comply with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
  • Provide for more equitable grading requirements between new and existing enterprises - see regulations 10 (11) on page 13.

Members sometimes enquire about eligibility for joint ventures to submit tenders.  In this regard see Regulations 25 (5) on page 26 and table 9 on page 27.
