The Association has the following exciting opportunity for a Clinic Assistant.



 Provide a comprehensive administrative support service and conduct all clinic duties such as medical vision, Spiro and audio screening as per the clinic’s standard operating procedures.





As the Clinic Assistant  you will be responsible for  a variety of tasks, and assisting the Occupational Health Nurse Practitioners with the operations of the Clinic and the Mobile Clinic.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Conduct all medical vision, Spiro and audio screening as per the clinic’s standard operating procedures.
  • Assist the OHNP with all the other clinical requirements as requested.
  • Assist with documentation, data capturing, record keeping and filing.
  • Assist with setting up and packing away of all equipment.
  • Assist with weekly stock take.
  • Assist with invoicing & debt control.
  • Have a valid driver’s licence. Code EB or EC1.
  • Be able to drive the vehicle and tow the mobile clinic.
  • Park and secure the vehicle and mobile clinic.
  • Assist with the mobile clinic and Westville clinic services.
  • Any other duties relating to the Clinic/ Mobile Clinic or the Association as a whole, which may reasonably be expected of an employee in this position.



  • Matric with at  least 3 years relevant experience.
  • Qualification in audio and Spiro.
  • Knowledge of Occupational workplace safety (OHS Act 1993).
  • Knowledge of occupational health screening.
  • Ability to perform administrative tasks (Data capturing, record keeping, general administrative skill).
  • Computer literate, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and database.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Professional level of organization.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Need a strong appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on deadline.
  • Must have a code EB or EC1 drivers licence.
  • Conversing in Zulu would be an advantage.
  • Registered with the DeL on the register of Audiometrists.
