To ensure that members were kept abreast of the latest developments since the lockdown was imposed the Association sent out regular ebulletin notices with updated information. The Membership Services team also provided members with ongoing telephonic and email support relating to COVID-19 and other compliance matters.

 Members that were operating under level 4 lockdown who required urgent on-site assistance were attended to under strict safety protocols. The Area Managers that called on these sites took every practical precaution to safeguard against the spread of infection.

 One of the hot topics of inquiry throughout the month centred around Occupational Health and Safety compliance in the COVID-19 era. In addition to the communication that was sent out relating to the topic, the Association was honoured to have Hilton Ganesen (Deputy Director; Specialist for Construction; Department of Employment and Labour) participate in an online member Forum Meeting. Mr Ganesen graciously shared the perspectives of the department with us and responded to queries from members.

 The Association also placed a lot of emphasis on communicating important information surrounding the impact of COVID-19 on contractual and legal matters. An online member Forum meeting was also held on this topic, and attorneys Bilaal Dawood of Bilaal Dawood Attorneys and Richard Hoal of Cox Yeats Attorneys joined us online and shared their expertise with us. The overriding message was to know your contract, know what you can claim for and get your claims in early.

 With the full sector resuming on 1 June 2020, we urge our members to take every precaution to stay safe. We all have a collective responsibility towards fighting the virus and members should note that the Association is here to provide specialist support, including assistance with risk assessments and the implementation thereof.
