VIKASHNEE HARBHAJAN – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: MASTER BUILDERS KWAZULU-NATAL          

  

Vikashnee Harbhajan is the Executive Director of Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal. She has held senior positions in both the public and private sector, has a Master’s degree in law and is an admitted Attorney and Conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa.

She commenced her career at the University of Durban–Westville and Technikon Mangosuthu in the faculties of Law and served her articles with the Legal Aid Board. Ms Harbhajan also practiced as an attorney for her own account and served at the Free State Department of Education as Director: Legal Services and Labour Relations, before taking up a position with the National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC) as the Programme Director.

She then joined Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), the national voice of organised business in SA where she served as Executive Director responsible for Social Policy for over four years. Her portfolio at BUSA included inter alia labour market policy, education, training, skills, health, immigration, social security and anti – corruption. In her role, she represented SA business on various platforms. Her role at BUSA gave her the opportunity to be part of a business delegation that engaged with key Government leaders, Labour federations and the Community constituency.

Vikashnee has acquired expertise in the key areas of leadership and executive management, strategic and operational planning, advocacy and lobbying, project management, stakeholder negotiations and networking, knowledge of corporate governance and the ability to deal with diverse interests.

She has also gained experience on several Boards and Councils, including the National Board for Further Education and Training (NBFET), Advisory Council for Occupational Health and Safety (ACOHS), South African Business Coalition on HIV and AIDS Board (SABCOHA), Wholesale and Retail SETA Board (WRSETA), Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), National stakeholder Forum, Essential Services Committee (ESC), Equality Review Committee (ERC) and was the Chairperson of the SACPCMP Transformation Committee.

Vikashnee currently serves on the JBCC Board, KwaZulu-Natal Human Resource Development Council and the MBSA Board. She is the Chairperson of the MBSA Occupational Health and Safety Committee and is also a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD).

In 2016, the Association of Schools of Construction of Southern Africa (ASOCSA) awarded Vikashnee Harbhajan the ASOCSA Leadership Award for demonstrating consistent, ethical and exemplary leadership in the broader construction industry. In 2017, she received three CEO Global awards in the category Africa's Most Influential Women - Agencies and Regulatory Authorities Sector: Country Award (South Africa), SADC South Region Award and Africa Continental Award.

BILAAL DAWOOD - HEAD: MEMBERSHIP SERVICES

Bilaal Dawood holds an LLB degree and a Master’s degree in Business Leadership. Bilaal has worked in the construction and other industries in various roles. His area of expertise is construction contracts and contract management. Bilaal is an admitted attorney and practised for his own account with the prime area of practice being the legal and contractual needs of construction companies he represented.

NEIL ENSLIN - HEAD: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

Neil Enslin joined the Association in 2004. He started his working career with Mondi Kraft in 1994 and completed his N4 Paper achieving qualification. In 2000, he changed his focus to Safety Risk Management and later qualified as an Occupational Health and Safety Risk Management Officer. He obtained his National Diploma in Safety Management in 2005 through UNISA and is a registered Professional Construction Health and Safety Agent with SACPCMP and a Chartered Member of Saiosh. When it comes to Construction Health in Safety in South Africa, Neil is widely regarded as the industry's leading expert.  

REETESH BALGOBIND - HEAD: FINANCE

I am Reetesh Balgobind, Head : Finance at Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal with a background of over 20 years of experience in finance and operations across diverse industries.  I’m passionate about using smart financial strategies and technology, to support growth and good corporate governance. I believe finance isn’t just about numbers, it’s about creating value and building a solid foundation for success.


VISHANE PRAMRAJH - EMPLOYEE BENEFITS MANAGER

Vishane Pramrajh joined Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal in 2013 as the Association’s Employee Benefits Manager. He holds a National Certificate in Wealth Management, a RE1 FAIS Representative Certificate and has been in the Financial Services industry since 2000 after having begun his career with the Fedsure Group. 

 

MANDISA KHUMALO - LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Mandisa was born in Durban. After matriculating she studied Financial Management at eThekwini FET College and then was employed by a Training Organisation as Office Support. She furthered her studies in Pastel Accounting and Bookkeeping at UniSchool which is part of Howard College. She joined the Association in 2010. Mandisa is responsible for the Association's Emerging Contractor programme, Bursary fund and Vuka Makhi programme.   

 

ANISHA NAIDOO - HR MANAGER

Anisha holds a qualification in Human Resource Management and has over 20 years of experience in Human resources principles in a variety of organisations. Born in PMB, she completed her Graduate in Training at Hulamin. She holds a firm passion for all Industrial Relations matters. 


 

SHELLY KUPFERMAN - FACILITIES MANAGER

Upon completion of high school, Shelly achieved a National Secretarial Certificate as well as a Fitness & Nutrition Diploma. She began her work life as a tracing agent at ASAP Tracing in Newcastle, before Joining Hudson & Knight Unilever, where she worked as a personal assistant for three years, before leaving to travel the USA. 

 

ERNEST ROPER - MEMBERSHIP & ICT MANAGER

Ernest began his career with PostNet SA (PTY) in the 1990s, helping expand the franchise to over 200 locations. After running his own technology business, he served as Membership Manager at Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal for 12 years. Following a period of time as a franchise owner, he returned to the Association in September 2024 as Membership and ICT Manager.

 

PAULA LEAH - MEMBERSHIP MANAGER

Paula grew up in Richards Bay and began her working career with a small local construction company called General Plant Services. From 1992 she worked as a marketing consultant for stationery supplier Waltons, before in 1999, joining security company Chubb Guarding as their Richards Bay branch manager. In 2005 she moved over to labour-hire firm New Adventure Hire, where she headed up their Human Recourses department. 

 

TIASHKA RAMLAL - MEMBERSHIP MANAGER

Tiashka is a dedicated Membership Manager at Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal. She holds a qualification in Electrical Engineering and has previously served as a Construction Project Manager, where she successfully led teams and delivered projects with precision and efficiency. Her background enables her to understand the technical needs of members while fostering strong professional relationships across the industry to support and grow the organisation’s membership base.

ELISHYA ABBU - OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH CLINIC MANAGER

Elishya joined the Association in 2008. She worked in the Association's exhibition centre and then after a year moved to the Occupational Health and Safety department. She has since then completed Samtrac (entry-level safety management training course) and is currently studying through UNISA (Programme in Safety Management). Elishya hopes to further her education by completing the National Diploma in Safety Management through UNISA. She is also a member of Saiosh ( South African Institute of Safety & Health) since 2010.

ZERICH ZWANEPOEL - PRINT STUDIO MANAGER

Zerich is a highly skilled designer, with more than 10 years of experience. He joined Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal in 2019 and has worked on numerous high-profile projects. He prides himself on providing excellent customer service and always meeting deadlines.
