The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced disruption and uncertainty in all sectors across South Africa. The Education and Training Sector has not been spared. Schools, colleges and higher learning institutions play an important role in supporting youth as well as providing stability, routine, mental health and consistency. With this disruption comes many challenges. Education leaders have grappled with the balancing of the completion of curriculum and the health risks to learners exposed to COVID-19.
Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal special projects - Vuka Makhi Programme, Emerging Contractor Programme and Bursary Fund supports and develop scholars, youth and others who are keen on establishing themselves in the construction industry. In light of the pandemic and its impact on these special projects, the Association may review how they are to be delivered.
With the start of the new academic year around the corner, learners and educators will have to brace themselves for change. Schools need to rebuild the loss in learning. This disruption has brought awareness to new possibilities in reviewing and reviving the education system. The future of Education and Training has drastically transformed, and the learning-from-home model has changed the roles of teachers, learners and parents. The Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Training Academy offers over 103 courses and has fully adopted the offering of online training.
