The class of 2020 will be remembered well into the future as those who had persevered through the COVID-19 pandemic. Their academic year has been disrupted in the most unimaginable way.
Learners participating in the Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Vuka Makhi Programme travelled every Saturday for almost two years to the Master Builders Centre for lessons in Mathematics, Physical Science, English, Life Orientation and Basic Computers. Their academic year came to an abrupt halt in March 2020. After the easing of the lockdown levels, they resumed lessons on 27 June 2020 after an absence of three months. Together with their school teachers and Vuka Makhi tutors, they have worked hard to catch up on the lost time and to prepare themselves for the final examination of their schooling career.
Their last lesson was held with Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday, 31 October 2020. They will begin their matric examinations on Thursday, 5 November 2020 with English paper 1. The examination period will conclude on 15 December 2020.
We wish these aspirant professionals of tomorrow well in their examinations and look forward with great anticipation to fantastic final results.
It is envisaged that they will begin their tertiary studies at the beginning of the 2021 academic year.
The Association would like employers to note the benefit of supporting future contributors to the South African economy. To support a student with a bursary impacts positively on your BBBEE scorecard and to absorb such an individual into your organisation and the industry is an even further boost.
The Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Vuka Makhi programme has provided these young people the opportunity to mould their future and to take up their place as the future leaders of industry and South African society.
Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal would like to wish all learners much success in their examinations.
