Changing attitudes through training

The return to work in the COVID-19 environment has exposed the critical issues of health, safety, and hygiene in the workplace. Employers have been compelled to relook at attitudes and practices, to identify deficiencies and to put corrective measures in place. Training has become the most effective intervention to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.

Suggested courses in this regard are:

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant current legislation (Legal liability) – 4 credits – 1 day

  • Demonstrate knowledge of how to prepare for planned task observation at a working place.
  • Conduct a planned task observation at a working place.
  • Record and follow-up.

 

Conduct a continuous risk assessment in a workplace (HIRA) – 4 credits – 1 day

  • Explain the legal and specified requirements for conducting continuous risk assessments.
  • Prepare to conduct a continuous risk assessment.
  • Conduct a continuous risk assessment.
  • Initiate remedial action and follow up on Continuous Risk Assessment.

 

Conduct an investigation into workplace incidents – 5 credits - 1 day

  • Explain the specified requirements pertaining to conducting an investigation into workplace incidents.
  • Prepare to gather data for the investigation.
  • Gather and evaluate data.
  • Perform post-investigation functions.
