We would like to encourage all our members to participate in the skills development process by doing a training needs analysis and submitting a workplace skills plan and in so doing, applying to the SETA for a mandatory grant which is equal to 20% of the skills levies that you pay on a monthly basis. This grant will be paid directly into your bank account on a quarterly basis.

The skills year begins on 01 January and ends on 31 December. You should therefore report on training done from 1 January to 31 December 2018 and provide your plan for training from 1 January to 31 December 2019 for the current year.

The due date for submission for Workplace Skills Plan to the SETA is 30 April 2019. Information should reach the Association by the 1st March 2019.

As in previous years, the authorized person in the entity must in writing appoint Prishana Maharaj of Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal as the Skills Development Facilitator for your entity. This will allow the Association to submit your WSP on your behalf.

All information as requested on the template, appointment letter and agreement should then be returned via email to Prishana Maharaj (prishana@masterbuilders.co.za) by 1 March 2019 as a set deadline so that all checks can be made and the submission done before the due date of 1st  April 2019 to avoid technical malfunctions.

As a 2019 special, the Association will once again assist members at no cost subject to training executed being facilitated by the Master Builders Training department. Refer to the attached agreement (msw)appointment letter(msw) and WSP – ATR 2018/2019 template (xlsx)

Or

If the agreement cannot be met, a cost of R3,000.00 will be charged for services rendered.
