JBCC Principal Building Agreement - What are the Major Differences Between Version 6.1 & 6.2 

Since August 2018 the latest version (6.2) of the JBCC  Principal Building Agreement has been available for use on building projects. The Association has received many requests as to the differences to the two building agreements. 

As our members have attended courses on the 6.1 version and may have not been able to update themselves on 6.2 as yet, Master Builders South Africa have released a document on the well publicised problems with version 6.1 and the corrective action taken in 6.2. This document is to serve merely as a guide and should not be seen as a comprehensive document on the changes between the two versions.

The Association would urge our members to attend training courses on the new Principal Building Agreement to ensure that they are not at risk when they enter any future contracts that use the JBCC PBA 6.2.
