The Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) and Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) have launched a free-to-use Web Tool dedicated in assisting smaller businesses with labour relation processes and procedures. The Presidential Jobs Summit Framework Agreement outlined this project which underwent thorough testing and content mapping. The Web Tool project is related to the National Development Plan’s (NDP) which forecasted that almost 90% of new jobs would be created by small businesses.
This project originated from a BUSA study conducted in 2015/16 which depicted that small businesses struggled in containing labour relation matters. Further to that, the CCMA statistics depicted that almost 80% of the dispute’s received by the institution where that of small businesses.
This CCMA-BUSA Web Tool contains all relevant and up-to-date information such as new amendments made to Employment Equity, the New National Minimum Wage Act, templates for contracts, Labour Law guidance, Employment Acts, disciplinary protocol, union representation, strikes/lockout procedures and much more.
