Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal remains committed to fostering an enabling environment within the construction industry to assist its membership to achieve their business goals and objectives. To this end, the Association is continually exploring different avenues to drive work in the direction of its membership.

A member forum meeting was held on 30 September 2020 via the MS Teams platform where special guest presenter Perumal Pillay, CIDB Provincial Manager for KwaZulu-Natal, provided an overview of their enhanced processes. He notified members that registration for Grade 1 applicants is now fully automated via their online web services. He also informed members that the annual update for Grade 2 to 9 is now also fully automated.  Mr. Pillay also drew attention to the fact that the cidb Best Project Acceptance Scheme was gazetted on 18 September 2020. This means that all contracts after a date determined by the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, above a prescribed value, will be subject to an Assessment. Throughout September, the Association continued to deliver membership services either via MS Teams, telephonically or on site as required. Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal warmly welcomes the following new members to the Association:

A number of Health and Safety audits were requested and concluded in the month of September of which our members achieved nothing less than a 4-star grading.  Members are reminded that the Association provides star grading free of charge, this service can be used to demonstrate OHS legal compliance to potential clients. If your company is in good standing with the Association and your employees are registered for workmen's compensation, request your current project to be star graded.
