Stefanutti Stocks Building KZN Lost Time Injury (LTI) Free hours milestone as at 28 February 2017
As at 28 February 2017 Stefanutti Stocks Building KZN had worked 2 002 401 hours without a lost time injury. This includes hours worked by sub-contractors.
November 2016 was the first time in nine years (since they started recording these stats) that they have had no lost time injuries by sub contractors for 12 consecutive months. February 2017 marks the 15th month of being lost time injury free for the combined safety stats report.
Considering ours is a very high risk and labour intensive industry, achieving these kinds of stats is no doubt remarkable and they are highly committed to maintaining this record.
“This achievement would not have been possible without a strong management commitment, a comprehensive and constantly evolving OHS program and more importantly support from our employees, sub-contractors, suppliers and organisations like the Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal and FEM”, said Stefanutti Stocks Building KZN Safety Manager, Siven Naidoo.
The regular and timely OHS campaigns and constantly improving safety induction programmes have no doubt played a significant part in creating a culture of health and safety awareness on all their projects.
They acknowledge that more work lies ahead for them if they are to remain accident and incident free, they do however say that it is a challenge they relish as they owe it not just to their employees, but also to their clients, contractors and the public alike.
