Companies are eligible to be reimbursed 20% of their monthly skills levies if they submit a Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and an Annual Training Report (ATR) to a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA). This reimbursement is called the Mandatory Grant and is awarded when the WSP and ATR are created and submitted as per the SETA’s specifications. This Grant is paid into the company’s bank account every quarter.
Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal’s Business Support Consultancy assists companies to obtain the Mandatory Grant by:
- Managing the application process.
- Registering as an external Skills Development Facilitator for submissions.
- Providing advice on creating a Training Needs Analysis.
- Helping to create training budgets in line with the WSP.
- Ensuring that the WSP and ATR contain the required information in the correct format, specific to the relevant SETA.
- Ensuring that training spent is in line with B-BBEE requirements.
- Submitting the WSP and ATR to the relevant SETA.
- Liaising with SETAs on behalf of companies.
- Identifying beneficial programmes offered by SETAs.
The ATR is a record of training that was conducted from 1 January 2021 until 31 December 2021 while the WSP outlines training from January 2022 until 31 December 2022. The due date for the submission of both documents to the SETA is 30 April 2022.
The Association will assist members with preparation and submission of WSP/ATR. Please contact Prishana Datadin on (031) 831 3201 or prishana@masterbuilders.co.za for a quotation.
