| Dear Members and Readers Congratulations to Marcus Peter Gonzalves of FS Gonzalves Construction who was designated as the President of Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal at its 121st Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 28 June 2022. He served as Chairman of the South Coast Committee for several years, was a Member of the Executive Council since July 2011 and also served as an Office Bearer of the Association. The President pledged his commitment and dedication to the Association and the industry at large and indicated: “Under my leadership, I will certainly strive towards vigorously pursuing a sustainable construction industry as we participate in the rebuilding process.” He took the opportunity to thank and salute the outgoing President, Bhekisisa Samson Ngcongo for his outstanding leadership and successful term of Presidency as he braced the ‘unchartered territory’. “Members can rest assured that the Association is in good hands. It has the necessary capacity and resources to brace the turbulent waters and will certainly ride the crest of the waves that come with it,” added Bhekisisa Samson Ngcongo. It was pleasing to note that the Association received an unqualified audit report for the 2021/2022 financial year. Notwithstanding tough trading conditions, the Association closed the financial year with 715 members, reflecting increased growth in the Small Business Member category.
